Region

Bohemian Switzerland

Sandstone · Pravčická brána · Gorges

A sandstone national park (České Švýcarsko) on the Saxon border. Pravčická brána is described as the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe.

Bohemian Switzerland National Park (České Švýcarsko) has existed since 1 January 2000 and, at 79 km², is one of the smaller ones. Pravčická brána is described as the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe.

Throughout the national park outside the built-up areas of villages, the law forbids domestic animals from roaming free. If you come with a dog, plan on keeping it on a lead.

    How we chose

    • Bohemian Switzerland is a tourist area, not an administrative region, so it has no official border. We draw it as an area around one reference point (České Švýcarsko National Park (Wikipedia)).
    • Facts such as areas, dates and rules come from official bodies and Wikipedia. Each one is in the source list below, with the date we last checked it.
    • Stay DNA and the “Know before you go” panel are our editorial estimates, compared with the other places in the atlas. They are not measurements or visitor ratings.
    • We name no individual hosts, and nobody pays to be included.
