A historic centre on the UNESCO list since 1992. Where to stay so that you experience Prague rather than just walk through it.
The historic centre of Prague has been on the UNESCO list since 1992 – together with the park and château at Průhonice. Prague is the only region in the atlas where you genuinely do not need a car.
Since 2022 Prague has charged the tourist tax (poplatek z pobytu) at the maximum legal rate of CZK 50 per person per day (excluding the day of arrival).

How we chose
- Prague is a tourist area, not an administrative region, so it has no official border. We draw it as an area around one reference point (Prague (Wikipedia)).
- Facts such as areas, dates and rules come from official bodies and Wikipedia. Each one is in the source list below, with the date we last checked it.
- Stay DNA and the “Know before you go” panel are our editorial estimates, compared with the other places in the atlas. They are not measurements or visitor ratings.
- We name no individual hosts, and nobody pays to be included.
