Private sauna and hot tub
Sauna · Hot tub · Wellness
“Private wellness” is one of the most common wishes today. In practice, though, it can mean a sauna just for you, a shared hot tub in the yard, or an hour a day for an extra charge.
What the labels hide
| Label | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| Private sauna | the sauna belongs to your apartment or cottage, and nobody else uses it |
| Private wellness | wellness just for you, but often at a booked time and for an extra charge |
| Shared wellness | a sauna or hot tub for all guests in the building |
| Outdoor hot tub | a heated tub or bath on the terrace, sometimes wood-fired |
Questions before booking
- Is the sauna or hot tub just for us, or shared?
- Is it included, or charged by the hour or day?
- When is it available? All day, or at set times?
- Outdoor hot tub: how is it heated and how long does it take? Is firewood included?
- Does it work in winter?
- Who changes the hot-tub water, and how often?
Safety
Saunas and hot water put a strain on your circulation. Don’t combine them with alcohol, don’t leave children unsupervised, and if you have health problems, talk to a doctor.
