Morning milking, eggs from the henhouse, horses over the fence. A farm is the shortest way to show children (and yourself) where food comes from.

What it is

Agritourism (agroturistika) means spending your free time in typical rural surroundings – sometimes even helping out on the farm. The idea is to get to know the life of farmers and the countryside, and to be close to animals, the land and local traditions. Visits to wineries with a tour of the vineyards belong here too.

Who it suits

  • Families with children – animals, space, no screens.
  • City people – a daily rhythm set by the work, not the calendar.
  • Anyone who doesn’t want a programme – the farm is the programme.

Questions before booking

  1. Can children go near the animals? Under what conditions and with whom?
  2. Is helping out part of the stay, or optional?
  3. What about allergies (hay, fur, feathers)?
  4. Are farm products included in the price?
  5. How far is it to a shop and a doctor?
  6. Dogs – are they allowed on a farm with other animals?
